RTI, Right to Information is an act passed by the Indian government in 2005. Right to Information act is a replacement of Freedom of Information act of 2002. According to RTI Act, every public authority is legally obliged to provide information demanded by any citizen of India within the duration of 30 days.
There are different ways the information can be demanded. The popular ways are online RTI Application and offline RTI application. Here in this article, we will provide you with information about both the ways. We prefer Online application as it’s easy and comfortable but offline RTI filling is also available. How to file RTI Online?
It’s fairly simple process if you are comfortable using the Internet, if not, need not worry. The process of online RTI application is explained with photos. Additionally, if you face any issues please comment and we will try to help you.
Step 1: Visit the official website by clicking here.
Step 2: There are two options for you, if in past you have registered with RTI website then you’ll need to enter the login details. The another option is to sign-up. You can do it by clicking here. The page will look like the image given bellow.
Step 3: After successful registration, you will be redirected to account. Where you will find the option to “Submit Request”, clicking on it will point you to the page where all the guidelines are displayed.
Step 4: The next screen after accepting the guidelines and conditions. The page where you will be requested to enter the information you demand under RTI Act. It’ll look something like the given image.
The next step is to make payment and confirming the form.
